This geneology was written by Rose Lee Monk of Modesto, California
a descendant of Joseph DeJean.
Joseph lived in Brooklyn, Dane Co. Wisconsin.
He married Almira Lee on 19 Nov 1836.
In 1837 went to Waukesha, Wisconsin.
In 1838 to Janesville, Wisconsin [Rock Co.]
In 1839 to Rutland, Wisconsin, Homesteaded there. Built the first log cabin in Dane Co. Later built a frame house, cutting and hauling all the lumber himself.
The church in Rutland Cemetery is now a museum. [United Brethern Church]
The First Series of Wisconsin Conferences was held there in 1852. This was Joseph's church.
